Industry News PCNB comment deadline extended another 30 days The Environmental Protection Agency has extended the public comment period another 30 days for PCNB. The new PCNB public comment deadline is Jan.8, 2007. EPA is providing this third extension to allow comment on documents inadvertently omitted from and recently added to the docket. In August 2006, EPA issued a decision making turf uses of PCNB ineligible for reregistration. If this recommendation takes effect, it means that fungicides containing PCNB will no longer be available for use to control snow mold on golf courses in the U.S. GCSAA will submit comments to EPA in support of the continued registration and use of PCNB on golf courses. GCSAA members are also urged to take a few minutes to submit a comment to the docket. The process is quick and easy. Two sample letters, which can be personalized, are available in the PCNB action alert to help GCSAA members submit comments. One letter is for a PCNB user and the other for someone who is concerned about loss of the product to the turfgrass industry.
